Volunteer for the 2023 Scholarship Gala

We are already planning our Scholarship Gala for 2023! It’s our largest fundraiser each year. Join our next 2023 planning meeting on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 7-8pm.  We need volunteers to help with:

1.  Interviewing florists, DJ, photographers, entertainers, and emcees — or volunteering your own talents to add programming to the gala entertainment and events.
2.  Promoting event attendance in September / early October.
3.  Following up with Business Sponsors to collect money, in-kind donations and their ad graphics for the program book.
4.  Programming the Gala including entertainment blocking and writing the script for the Emcee and others as needed to maintain flow.
5.  Organizing and editing the video programming to be shared at the Gala and on the website.
6.  Day-Of Volunteers to check people in, sell raffle tickets, promote the live auction items, handle coat check, etc.
Of course, if you have other ideas for how you’d like to volunteer / support the Gala Committee please feel free to email gala@opalga.org.

Volunteer for Donut Day – June 10th

It’s that time again to make the donuts! Every year OPALGA+ takes a Saturday to volunteer with Pilgrim Church to make and sell donuts at the Oak Park Farmer’s market. It’s a great fundraiser for our organization. Once again, PFLAG will be joining us as a partner.

We work hard, but we have a lot of fun, too. It’s also a great way for our organization to be visible and participate in our Oak Park community.

Won’t you join us? To sign up, select a role and a time slot below, then click submit.  Shifts end at the indicated times.  No one should expect to leave before the end of the shift. If specific duties are no longer needed, such as mixing is completed early, volunteers should expect to be reassigned to other tasks.
