Although OPALGA+ does not participate in the Chicago Pride parade in June, there are two parades that OPALGA+ participates in:
- River Forest Memorial Day Parade – this year Monday, May 30th
- Oak Park 4th of July Parade – this year, Monday, July 4th
Join us Monday, May 30th at 8:15am at Board Member, John Becvar’s Home (719 Bonnie Brae Pl, River Forest) as we prepare to march in the River Forest Memorial Day Parade. Wear your OPALGA t-shirt if you have one and if not, we will provide one. Help us pass out pride bracelets along the 0.5 mile parade route. If you’re running behind you can also join us at the staging area #TBD at 9am. After the parade, join us for some hot dogs at Keystone Park. See the parade route here.
Join us for the Oak Park 4th of July Parade. The many dimensions of diversity in Oak Park are on display when the annual Independence Day Parade steps off at 10 a.m. on July 4 from Longfellow Park at Ridgeland Avenue and Adams Street. The parade marches north on Ridgeland to Augusta Street, turning east to disperse near Whittier Elementary School at Harvey.
