Spectrum is the part of the OPALGA Youth Network, for ages 18 – 25

All Spectrum drop-in participants agree to keep each other's identities and personal details discussed at the group confidential - so that means that anyone who drops in should be safe from being "outed" by another participant at school, at home, or out in the community.

We request that people show up without alcohol or drugs.

The Monday night group is fairly unstructured - we meet from 7:00 pm until 9:30 or so. The group usually decides the agenda for the evening - it can be a discussion on current or classic Lesbian, Bisexual, Gay or Trangender issues, a movie, whatever. Occasionally, we have special events on weekends.

Information is available on Safer Sex, HIV/AIDS, and STDs. On occasion, we have free, anonymous HIV testing as well as free, confidential STD screening at our drop-in center (courtesy of the Oak Park Health Department).

There are free refreshments (soda, chips, the occasional pizza) and free Safer Sex supplies (a wide assortment of condoms)

If this sounds like something that might interest you, feel free to drop in. If you'd like more information, call our info line at 708/386-3463.

Otherwise, we're at 947 Garfield Street, Oak Park, Illinois.

If you have any ideas, suggestions, or comments
