After a five month break from holding ALAS (Amigos Latinos Apoyando Siempre), OPALGA’s Latino men’s group, we have hired a group facilitator and outreach educator! We would like to welcome Alex Lopez to our OPALGA family, and look forward to the work he will be doing with the Latino community!
Alex currently works at IBM in Lisle, but his desire to work within the community has led him to our program. Alex has experience working with Project VIDA in Chicago, and has volunteered with their young men’s program providing support and HIV/STD prevention education. Alex’s responsibilities within OPALGA will be to provide group facilitation, but also community outreach and education on issues relating to the Latino community. |
