OPALGA Youth Network
OPALGA supports a network of programs for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and questioning (LGBTQ) youth and young adults. All programs offered are free, confidential, and offer a safe space for the participants to discuss issues they otherwise may not feel comfortable sharing in what we consider traditional support systems. The youth network's programs are designed and overseen by a professional director. Our Speakers Bureau provides technical assistance and presentations for school staff, classes, and community service providers on issues facing LGBTQ youth and adults. The proceeds from the OPAL Gala, OPALGA's annual recognition and fundraising banquet, provide approximately 10% of the Youth Network's operating budget. The remaining funding needs are raised through grants and private contributions.
