The Center is generally* open during the following office hours:
Monday: 9 A.M. to Noon and 1:00 P.M. to 2 P.M.
Tuesday: 9 A.M. to Noon and 1:00 P.M. to 2 P.M.
Thursday: 9 A.M. to Noon and 1:00 P.M. to 2 P.M.
Friday: 9 A.M. to Noon and 1:00 P.M. to 2 P.M.
*The Center is closed for the following holidays: Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day (if any of these holidays falls on a weekend during a given year, then the office is closed on the following Monday)
The OPALGA Center Staff
Director of Youth Programming - Susan Abbott, LCSW: Susan joined OPALGA's staff as the Youth Program Director in December of 1999 and is responsible for oversight of all drop-in programs, outreach and fundraising. Susan received her master's in Social Work from Loyola University in Chicago in 1994, and worked previously with women and children with HIV at Children's Memorial Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Office Manager - Jan Hannigan: Jan joined OPALGA as office manager in April of 2002. She is responsible for daily administrative management of OPALGA, monthly mailings and the voice you hear when you call us! Any calls received after hours will be returned promptly upon her return. OPALGA Board Of Directors
The association is overseen by a board of directors consisting of two board co-chairs (one female and one male), a treasurer, a secretary, eight at-large directors, and up to two past co-chairs. Officers and directors serve two year terms. The board meets on the third Tuesday of every month at The OPALGA Center from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. These meetings are open to all members of the association.
